After the military coup staged on 1st Feb 2021, it has been reported that the Myanma Timber Enterprise (MTE) is attempting to sell timber to local timber entrepreneurs and companies through an open tender system in order to generate revenue for the military council.
I am very pleased to hear that some local timber entrepreneurs and companies have not participated in the open tender held by the MTE to help obstruct any revenue and cash flow to the military council.
I am also especially grateful to some strong and courageous entrepreneurs who have joined the Civil Disobedience Movement by cutting ties with the MTE, which is under the control of the Military Council.
I strongly encourage local timber entrepreneurs and companies who took part in the tender, for any reason, to stop cooperating with the military council, and for successful bidders to join the CDM by not paying any timber fees.
