H.E. Dr. Tu Hkawng, Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation of the National Unity Government chaired a meeting with the Technical Advisory Taskforce on 6th May 2021
During the meeting, the members of the Technical Advisory Taskforce reported the accomplished performance in accord with the decision made at the previous meeting, suggested a proposed budget for the civil servants who participated in CDM, and introduced the economic technicians to the participants. The Minister and all members discussed matters related to taking action against the heads of departments, possible measures against illegal conduct by the relevant departments, and deliberated on how to effectively protect natural resources by cooperating with the Ministry of Defense.
The following decisions were made at the meeting:
(1) To take action against the heads of relevant departments who have been putting pressure on CDM staff, first collecting evidence and witness accounts of their actions
(2) To update and submit the activities and proposed budget for the interim action plan.
